Save the Date

This older home in the historic district of Newport News sports a large PV system that supports all of its electricity.

Circle Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 on your calendar! You won’t want to miss the fifth annual Hampton Roads Solar Home Tour that will take place on that date between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. More than 25 homes will be open to the public demonstrating how they use energy efficiently to save money and protect the environment. Owners will tell you what motivated them to invest in alternative technologies and how you, too, can benefit from what they learned. You will be given the tools to figure out what works for you.

Right now we have homes that will be open throughout the Hampton Roads area including the South Side, Peninsula and Middle Peninsula, and are adding more homes in different areas daily. Signing up for the tour is both free and easy. Sponsored by the Hampton Roads Solar Group, which is part of The Green Building Council, the tour is part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour. Just remember to go to http://hrsolartour.com after August 15 to sign up and get a list of all the home
s on the tour. Maybe you better circle that date, too, although you can sign up even on the tour day. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to see how you can make both a difference in your wallet and a difference to the planet. Let’s just call it a win-win situation.

Informative post.
Solar units, or photovoltaic units are often silicon-based pieces of material that soak up the sun's lightweight. Not warmth, as in the thermal submission numerous of these solar cells are often combined in solar panels figures of solar panels can be blended and interlinked for greater power Solar energy stimulates the electrons in the solar cell and electrical energy is produced.
